E reach · Shift breathe · X refuse · stand still to look · more about moving
Walk with the arrow keys or W A S D . Up reaches up, and climbs what the hands can hold. E reaches for whatever is near; the words by your feet say what that would be. Space jumps, once there is somewhere worth jumping to.
Hold Shift (or B ) to breathe. X refuses: it turns you away from whatever is near. And standing still, pressing nothing at all, is a way of looking.
Where the world is flat, up and down mostly do nothing. Mostly. Where it is not flat, they take you further in or back toward yourself.
Some ways through are found by going the way you have not been going. Esc or P opens this again; M turns the sound on or off.
Your place is kept on this device. The earlier version of Through keeps its own place.

An earlier telling of this road
This is the first version of Through: The Way Through , the same road told flat, in two dimensions, the way it was first made.
It is a different game, with its own story, its own puzzles and its own saved place. Nothing you do there changes anything here.
It opens in a new tab. This game stays here in this tab, paused, with your place saved. Nothing here ends.
