Terms of Service

Effective date: September 27, 2026

haze.motes.org is an art project: a set of small pieces, some of them games, that keep changing. These terms are short because there is not much to agree to.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using haze.motes.org (including its mirror at motes.org/haze), you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Accounts

You do not need an account for anything here. If you choose to sign in, you do so with a The5 account, which is shared with other motes.org and Hoofprint Games properties (The5, Herdle, Price Check and TurdQuest). You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for what happens under your account. New accounts are made at The5, under The5's own terms.

3. Acceptable Use

4. Content Ownership

The pieces, their words, images, sounds and code are the artist's work. You are welcome to play them, share links to them, and share screenshots or recordings of your own play for non-commercial purposes. Please do not copy or republish the pieces themselves.

Your choices in a game are yours. The only thing kept of them, beyond your own browser, is your online place (if you sign in) and anonymous totals that include no one.

5. Things Change

This is a working studio, not a product. Pieces may change, move, be rewritten, or disappear, and a saved place may not survive a large change to its piece. Keep your own copy of anything you would miss (Bearings → Keep your place).

6. Disclaimers

haze.motes.org is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Some pieces are about difficult things; they are meant to be sat with, not to advise.

7. Termination

We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms, at our discretion.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date.
